Whether you're a connoisseur of Cheetos and Mountain Dew, or a housewife who needs to find frozen raspberries for the kids, all foreigners living in Suzhou have a yearning for something from home that they don't want to live without, and it's often difficult to find whatever that thing may be. Luckily, in the past few years, foreign goods have become available at a number of places around town, and one of those you should seriously check out is Enjoy City.
Located on Xing Han Road just inside of the Horizon apartment complex near the intersection of Xing Han Road and Xin Dai Avenue, Enjoy City is conveniently located for all of us SIP-dwellers. Short term parking is available outside, and due to its location it's near a lot of major bus lines. It's not visible from the street though, so you might have missed it before. Upon entering I was welcomed by the friendly staff and began to nose around. The selection of goods here is really impressive. When I encountered the wine section, I was blown away. Hundreds of different kinds of wine from all over the world were at my fingertips. I haven't seen anywhere in Suzhou with such a large selection. Also impressive was the pasta section along one wall. Dozens of different types of pasta with a wide selection of accompanying sauces are at your disposal. They have a wide selection of organic produce, and a large meat section, and everything looked extremely fresh.
From Doritos to frozen fruit to imported beer, you can find what you're looking for at Enjoy City. I picked up some tortillas, refried beans, and cheddar cheese and I found the prices to be very reasonable. One feature that came in handy was the fact that they also sell many household items such as cleaning agents and toiletries, which could eliminate an unnecessary trip to another store. All in all, this place is worth a visit, and it's open late for those times you need an emergency, late night, bottle of wine. Not to drink alone, yourself. I hope.
